Introduction:

KickAss is Matthew Vaughn directed the 2010 black comedic superhero movie, based on a screenplay co-written by Vaughn and Jane Goldman. The screenplay is based on an identically named Marvel Comics comic book by Mark Millar and John Romita Jr.

The film narrates the tale of Dave Lizewski (Aaron Johnson), a regular adolescent who aspires to become a real-life superhero and goes by the moniker “KickAss.”

 When Dave runs into Big Daddy (Nicolas Cage), a former police officer who has trained his eleven-year-old daughter Chloë Grace Moretz to be the vicious vigilante Hit-Girl, in an attempt to take down crime boss Frank D’Amico (Mark Strong) and his son Red Mist (Christopher Mintz-Plasse), he gets drawn into a larger fight.

·        Aaron Johnson plays high school geek Dave Lizewski, also known as KickAss, who aspires to be a superhero baddiehub.ocm.

·        Red Mist, son of mafia lord Frank D’Amico, is played by Christopher Mintz-Plasse as Chris D’Amico.

·        Mark Strong plays New York mafioso Frank D’Amico, who has control of the entire city.

·        Chloë Grace Moretz as Big Daddy’s daughter Mindy Macready, also known as Hit-Girl, who was brought up as a vigilante since giving birth

·        Nicolas Cage plays Big Daddy, a former police officer who has turned vigilante and is seeking revenge on Frank D’Amico for ruining his family.

·        As Dave Lizewski’s girlfriend Lyndsy Fonseca plays Katie Deauxma; Clark Duke plays Marty Eisenberg.

Filming

Filming sites included Sir Winston Churchill Secondary School, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada; Dip ‘N’ Sip Donuts on Kingston Road in Toronto and “many Toronto landmarks that play cameos” as well as a number of locales in the United Kingdom, including Elstree Studios.[34] Filming for the opening scene with Nicolas Cage took place in an east London sewage plant.

The movie’s Atomic Comics is modeled after the now-closed chain of comic books stores in Arizona, whose proprietor is a friend of the artist John Romita Jr., according to Millar. A model of Atomic Comics was made at the London pilot studio for use in the filming after Millar requested permission from Mike Malve to utilize Atomic Comics in the movie.

Home media:

“There is about 18 minutes of [deleted] footage, which is really good stuff,” Matthew Vaughn stated in an interview. If the movie does well, I plan to do a longer version.In North America, the movie was released on DVD and Blu-ray on August 3, 2010. The previously indicated removed content is not present in this version. With a first-week sales of 1.4 million units, including one-third in Blu-ray format, KickAss ranked top on the DVD sales chart. On September 6, 2010, the CDs were made available in the United Kingdom.

Video game:

A video game based on the film was developed by Frozen Codebase. It was released through the App Store on 15 April 2010 for the phone and iPod Touch. The initial Apple platform release was reportedly an unfinished beta version and was withdrawn from circulation pending a relaunch of a finished version. The game was released on the PlayStation Network on 29 April 2010. KickAss, Hit-Girl, and Big Daddy are playable characters. The game features Facebook missions and integration.[76] Both versions of the game received negative reviews ensñar.
