How to Train Your New Pup like an Expert

Pup

We’re going to let you in on a little secret: how to train your new puppy like a pro. You’ve brought home your new puppy, and he’s the cutest thing you’ve ever seen. You can’t wait to start teaching him how to be a good dog.

But before you do, consider this: training a dog is not just about getting them to obey. It’s also about making sure that they are able to live in harmony with their owners and other animals, as well as themselves.

Training Tips for New Dog Owners

You know the feeling—you’ve got a new dog, and you’re excited to take him on walks and play with him, but he keeps trying to dig up the neighbor’s lawn or chew up the furniture. You’ve tried training classes, but your pup isn’t having any of it. It can be frustrating, but don’t give up!

1) Start at the beginning.

Don’t try to rush things. Be patient with your pup when training begins! Start by getting them comfortable with their new environment and letting them adapt to their new surroundings. This might mean introducing them slowly to other animals or people who come into contact with them during this time so that they can build up trust in those around them without feeling threatened or afraid of anything new happening around them. Puppies are easier to train than adult dogs, so start early—before they turn six months old. The sooner, the better. Bad habits will start to set in as your pup ages and it will become harder and harder to correct.

2) Be consistent with training and discipline.

Don’t give in to whining or begging because it will only make things worse. This is the most important thing you can do when training your pup. If you’re not consistent, they won’t learn what they’re supposed to do and they’ll just get confused, which leads to trouble. Your dog needs to understand that there will always be rules in place and that you are always in charge. So when you say “no,” it applies all the time, even if he’s just being cute by begging for food at dinner time. Consistency is key when it comes to training dogs! It’s important that you stick with one method until they’ve mastered it; then you can move onto something else. If you change up what you’re doing too often, it will be harder for your dog to learn anything because their brain won’t be able to focus on what it needs to pay attention to at any given moment (and trust us—they understand this better than we do).

3) Use positive reinforcement as much as possible when training your dog.

This means when they do something right, reward them with praise and treats! Remember that each dog is different, so it’s important to figure out what works best for yours in order to keep them motivated and interested in learning new things.  Don’t punish with physical discipline—yelling at or hitting your dog can lead to anxiety and aggression issues down the line.

4) Make sure your dog is well-socialized.

Get them used to being around other people and animals before they start training so they don’t become aggressive later on in life (this could be dangerous). If this isn’t possible because of safety reasons (like having an aggressive breed), consult with a professional trainer instead.

What to Consider When You Bring Your New Pup Home

You’ve made a commitment to care for another living creature, and you’re going to do the best job you can. But what if there were ways to make it even easier on your pup? What if there were ways that you could help your new best friend adjust more quickly and easily?

You’re in luck: there are many things you can do to make sure your new pup is comfortable and happy. Let’s talk about some of them!

You’ve decided that you’re ready to bring a new dog into your life. You’ve done your research, and you know exactly what kind of pup you want: a rescue. It’s important to remember that dogs from shelters have been through a lot—they may have been neglected or abused, so they may not be very comfortable around people. When you bring home your new pup, it’s important to consider what might be going on in their heads as they adjust to their new surroundings.

Don’t overwhelm them by giving them too much attention at first—set aside time each day for just cuddles with your new friend (but no more than 10 minutes per session). Once they feel more comfortable with you, then increase the amount of time spent together each day until they’re ready for full-on playdates with other dogs!

When you bring your new pup home, you’re going to want to make sure that they feel loved and cared for. The first step is to make sure they have a safe place to sleep. This could be a crate or an area of the house where they can go and relax when they need time away from people. You should also make sure that their bedding is comfortable and soft so that it helps them feel safe and secure in their new environment. Make sure you have plenty of toys available so that your pup can choose which one they like best—and rotate those toys out every few days so they don’t get bored too quickly!

It’s also important to take your new dog on walks as soon as possible so that they can get used to being outside on a leash and exploring their surroundings. This will help them become familiar with their neighborhood, which will make them feel more comfortable in general!

Finally: consider CBD-infused treats as part of your training process! CBD for dogs can help keep your dog calm during stressful situations like vet visits or moving into a new home with unfamiliar smells around every corner.
